What goes on at the Zelda activity day?

Wondering what the kids get up to on our Zelda days?

First of all - it's like all our other days, 100% outside and 100% screen free!

The Zelda days are part of our positive tech series, such as Wildcraft vs Minecraft and Among Us Spy Camp, inspired by the computer game Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.

The Outdoors Project - Korok Seed PouchWe'll be encouraging creativity and fine-tuning motor skills through various craft activities like arrow making, and Korok seed pouch making from felt & rope. We take elements of the game that the children love, and turn it into real life activities & engagement. The Outdoors Project - Arrow Making

There will also be physical activities such as the Hyrule Hero Relay - where they have to navigate through the various kingdoms (Great Sky Island, Lake Hylia, Forest Temple,  Gorn City & Rito Village), where each kingdom has a different activity such as balancing on a log for 1 minute, balancing a boar teddy bear on a board as a team and carrying him around a track, etc - lots of fun little challenges; and then a Korok Seed toss game where the children use their crafted Korok seed pouches & throw the contents into buckets - they score points for landing their Korok seeds in the different buckets using coordination, movement & dexterity. The Outdoors Project - Korok Mask

Finally, we'll be fostering teamwork and problem-solving skills through collaborative challenges like the relay race and the Lost Woods seeking game.

The Outdoors Project - Zelda Day Arrow MakingThese games & activities incorporate elements of adventure and teamwork, similar to the experiences found in the Zelda Kingdom of Tears. They also encourage imaginative play within the theme. And hopefully they draw the children away from screens to enjoy the benefits of playing outdoors with others.

Looking forward to seeing you at one of our Zelda days this summer holiday!

Adventure on!
