Leaving the Lab Behind: Jonny’s Story with The Outdoors Project

Ch-ch-changes... From Science to Outdoor Adventure

"I wanted to get away from days spent in front of a computer"

My name is Jonny and I launched my first The Outdoors Project kids clubs in Royston, just outside of Cambridge in summer 2024. After a decade of working as a scientist, with a PhD in physical chemistry, I wanted to get away from days spent in front of the computer. Now I spend far more time dressed as a bear and firing water pistols at shelters (that's me in the pictures!).

Earlier in the year, after attending a Franchise Webinar and then coming to visit the Brighton HQ over the February Half Term, I decided The Outdoors Project was the right business for me. I was blown away by the volume of bookings I’ve received, even in my first week of clubs.

If you’re thinking this could be something you’d love to do, I recommend booking an initial call with the franchise team. They were clear, honest and thoughtful in their recruitment process. Go ahead and book a call today!

IDENTIFYING A GAP IN THE MARKET

Jonny uncovered a remarkable demand in his local town. As a parent he was aware about how little there was for kids to do in Royston over the Summer Holidays, outside the typical sports based holiday clubs. After an near sell out summer, his initial instincts have been proved correct!
