Hey Outdoors Project Nature boys and girls, here’s your chance to get published in the Guardian…
Have your kids had unforgettable adventures with The Outdoors Project? Maybe they built dens, explored woodlands, or spotted wildlife during our sessions. Now’s their chance to turn those memories into stories for The Guardian’s Young Country Diary!
Encourage your young nature lovers to share an experience they had with us or any other outdoor adventure...
Submission Guidelines:
Who Can Enter: Kids aged 8-14 based in the UK. Parental permission is required.
What to Write: A 200-250 word article about a recent nature experience (perhaps from their time with The Outdoors Project!).
Deadline: Submit by noon on Friday 3 January for a chance to be featured.
How to Submit: Parents/guardians must fill out the official submission form on The Guardian’s website.
Tips for Budding Writers:
Use Your Senses: What did you see, hear, smell, or feel?
Describe the Scene: Paint a vivid picture with words.
Share the Experience: How did your outdoor adventure make you feel?
Add Cool Facts: If you spotted something unique, research some fun facts to include!
Why Participate? Six winning entries will be published online and in The Guardian newspaper—two in December, two in January, and two in February. The earlier you submit, the better your chance of being featured!
Good Luck, Explorers! We can’t wait to read your stories inspired by adventures at The Outdoors Project.
