Amy's Story, our new Havering Franchisee
Having worked in education for 14 years, Amy, owner of our Havering branch, knows a thing or two about making the most mundane of activities fun for children. Luckily, as part of The Outdoors Project team, she now has a wealth of exciting resources to allow children to do what they do best – PLAY!
Amy is a passionate advocate of children’s mental health and loves exploring the outdoors. She grew up in the South Wales valleys, near the Brecon Beacons and spent most weekends as a child walking with her grandfather and exploring the local streams (as well as running away from various angry animals when they accidently got too close!). Amy moved to London to teach in 2009, becoming a qualified SENCo and Assistant Headteacher, before having her daughter, Carys Eira, in 2021.
Taking on the Havering branch of The Outdoors Project has allowed Amy more time to spend with her family while still making a positive impact on children’s lives.
Here’s what Amy has to say about joining ODP:
"I’m so pleased I found The Outdoors Project and I’m so excited to be launching The Outdoors Project in Havering at Easter! The best thing about it is we’ll be outside enjoying all the benefits nature has to offer. We’re going to have a lot of fun! I’m really looking forward to growing our Havering community and teaching new skills such as bushcraft. I’m most excited about our Campfire Cookout days as we’ll get to make and eat some delicious goodies!"
