AFTER SCHOOL CLUBS - SUMMER TERM CONTINUED...
We are excited to be returning to our After School Clubs for the next half of the summer term after a busy Half Term in the sunshine.
We have new activities every week and every term, however we also have an enormous back-catalogue of games to draw on so when the weather is wet we'll tweak a session to make sure the kids are moving around more.
Here's a sneak peak of what we've been up to the last few weeks from the perspective of one of our lovely instructors, Brontë. -
"the theme for our after school club at Lancing was inspired by the Japanese nature art, Hapa Zome (translating to leaf dye.) This involved scavenging the outside area for plants and berries containing natural dye, to explore making symmetrical patterns. The year 3 and 4's were really engaged in making their own unique prints and the results were fantastic!"
"For our sixth week of Outdoors Project After School Club the theme was water filtration. Years 3 and 4 made some really muddy water and the aim was to purify it using different natural properties. In groups they used up-cycled plastic bottles to layer cotton wool, charcoal, sand and gravel to replicate the cleaning process spring water goes through. The results were great and some even achieved clear water!"
