I grew up spending most of my time outside in the park, local beach, national park or athletics track. Enjoying being outside was just in my blood! I was fortunate as a child/young adult to go on many adventures abroad, surfing, camping, hiking and swimming with family and friends. Creating memories that last a lifetime.

When I was 16, I started working with children at a local holiday club, then I ventured one summer to a camp in America. I always enjoy encouraging children to be active, have fun and learn something new, this is a theme that has continued throughout my life.

I qualified as a PE teacher at the age of 22, first teaching in Gloucestershire then, London, York and then returning to Gloucestershire. I have been helping educate and keep active many different types of children of various ages for over 20 years!

I have the best job; helping the next generation thrive outside. I love running the clubs – it makes me wish I could be a kid again.

I hope to see you at the clubs in Cirencester soon.

The winning combination of teachers experience and HQ support: Mel's case study

Journey to franchising with The Outdoors Project // Mel UJ - Cirencester

After many years teaching Mel launched the Outdoors Project Cirencester in August of this year. Mel wanted to use her teaching experience and passion for the Outdoors in a new venture, but was nervous about starting a business. Having the Outdoors Project HQ Team beside her as she launched her clubs was the perfect combination of Mel's infectious enthusiasm for running clubs and the franchise support expertise in marketing, operations and business administration.
